The Knutsford Golf Club is proud to be supporting participation in the sport among women and girls with its Get Into Golf initiative. Returning for its fifth year, the programme welcomed 37 ladies with a fantastic 3 month offer, allowing players of all abilities to join a community and enjoy all that the club has to offer.
Knutsford Golf Club Professional, Tim Maxwell and his wife Suzie organised introductory sessions and popular group lessons to develop and improve all aspects of play, and promote the improved wellbeing that the sport brings.
Highlights of the initiative included a Texas scramble event followed by a fabulous buffet prepared by Clubhouse Manager, Steve Barker, and prizes awarded by Lady Captain, Kim Blake, to the evening’s winners Claire Geddes, Zoe Davidson & Leslie Allsopp.
The programme concluded this year on the 8th of July with participants enjoying a social event and competition, reflecting on how far they’ve come and celebrating with a glass of prosecco to finish. Many of the ladies were keen to extend their membership, joining upwards of 50 women who have graduated to become active and enthusiastic members of the Club.
The Club looks forward to bringing this successful programme back in 2022, and extends its thanks to Tim and Suzie Maxwell, and the ladies’ section for providing a warm welcome to all attendees.
