Knutsford Golf Club has a dedicated team of voluntary council members and employees running the club. We are a member’s club run by the members for the members.
Day to day Club affairs are managed by our Honorary Secretary Peter Gough and his assistant Jane Mather.
The Club employs a number of colleagues responsible for delivering our outstanding course and clubhouse services.
Our Course Manager is David Jones. David is a vastly experienced and highly qualified course manager. He has a Distinction in Golf Course Management 2017 (SRUC Elmwood Scotland), was awarded R&A Scholarship 2014 (1 of 308 worldwide), and has been on the Walker Cup Support Team 2015 at Royal Lytham St Anne’s and the British Masters Support Team 2016 at The Grove London.
“My first job was at Vale Royal Abbey in 2006 where I learned a great deal. To develop my skills, my next move was to Hunley Hall Hotel and Golf in North Yorkshire in 2013” says Dave. “I moved back to the North West in 2016 to enjoy a great year at the fabulous and historic Southport and Ainsdale GC, then took on the role as course manager at Hartford GC before my move to Knutsford”.
David has Neil Sidebotham and Harley Stokes helping him to deliver the ambitious course improvement plans.
Our Clubhouse Manager is Steve Barker. Steve joined us from Bramhall Park GC and has been in and around the hospitality sector in Knutsford from the outset of his career. For fourteen years Steve worked in the recruitment industry where he was regional director of Search Consultancy Ltd specialising in the hospitality sector. He then owned and ran his own restaurant in Knutsford for five years. Steve brings great experience and energy to manage all Clubhouse services for members and guests and is supported by Sandra Kaczurba.
We are delighted to have David and Steve helping move our golf club forward. You can be assured they will look after you when you visit the club!
