Gentlemen’s Annual Club Dinner 2022

Friday 18^th of February 2022 saw the return of the Gentlemen’s Annual Dinner and Trophy Presentation at The Knutsford Golf Club, where our members joined us for an evening of fantastic food and celebrations. This highly anticipated and longstanding tradition dates back to 1891, providing the opportunity to celebrate the previous season’s achievements.

The evening began with our Club President, David Wilkinson saying Grace, before attendants enjoyed an exceptional four course meal prepared and served by Clubhouse Manager Steve Barker and his team. The menu included Duck Confit Pâté to start, before moving on to a succulent Rump of Lamb in Rosemary Jus with accompanying seasonal vegetables. For dessert, members were served a sweet Raspberry and White Chocolate Roulade, topped off with a Cheese Board and Port (for some!).

Following the fantastic meal was a  toast to the Knutsford Golf Club by Chair of House, Nigel Jenkins and response from self-styled Knutsford Laureate, Captain Rob Simms, before moving on to the trophy presentations. Members performed exceptionally well in the previous season, with the full list of the winners found below. Honourable mentions are given to our likeable and modest serial winner Jim Kenyon, and Ryder Hammond for winning the Speakman trophy as an octogenarian.

A spirited game of “killer” snooker followed the celebration drinks, before attendees took their leave at midnight. The evening was a great success of fine food and fun, and the Club wishes to thank Phil Welch and Steve Barker for their organisation that made the night memorable for all.
