CAPTAIN’S DAY – 16th August 2020

Knutsford Golf Club’s Captain for 2020, Mr David Kelly, and his wife Margaret hosted over 80 golfers at the Club’s annual Captain’s Day event on Saturday 15 August.

At the halfway stage, outdoors and in glorious sunshine, each group of four golfers were offered much needed refreshments by the Kellys in a Covid safe environment.

The first fourball on the tee at 8.00am comprised of Knutsford members Nigel Eckersley, Nick Boase, Shaun Mudalige and Richard Page (pictured on the  tee with the Captain).

Commenting on his day David Kelly said, “ With  planning, attention to detail and awareness of Covid -19 protocols, we managed to have a wonderful  day in the company of 80 golfing members of our club. The sun shone, the course was terrific and the usual banter was in full flow. I cannot thank my friends enough for making my Captain’s Day so special”

The winner on the day was Paul Moonan with a fantastic score of 41 stableford points closely followed by Chris Clarke in second place on 38 points. Unfortunately, no prize presentations are possible currently but on being informed of the final result by email  a delighted Paul Moonan said,  “ The Captain put on a great day for all our members and as for me, well, it was one of those wonderful days when the gods shine on you!”
